61.8% Fibonacci is still in play, interesting level...

Hm, with today's high @ 0.7299 there's an almost perfect 161.8% extension (darkcyan lines). Interesting fib-structure overall as well:

Hm, nice 61.8% retrace as well...

Normally I don't look much at 14.6% Fibs, but this one looks interesting (see chart below). Though 38.2% is a nice level as well...

Last wave in a corrective wave according to Elliot Wave Principle, see second chart of Dano12. With the price action this morning & CPI pending, I prefer to wait although we're now at the 50% line again.

Since it's a perfect 50% retrace, I like to think it was a C last Friday :-) No open trade btw. Maybe looking for a short entrance tomorrow UK/EU session.

@Dano12: Ok I understand, thanks! I'm long, so I hope we have a completed C here ;-)
- Vermeer replied Jul 30, 2015
Nice one In your opinion 3 has ended, right? Why not as a C?

Nice one :-) Agree with most here. Try to trade as small as possible. With potentially only small bruices / cuts, you can accept reality. I suffered also from trading paralysis (despite knowing my system was sound), trading smaller and accepting ...

JossFX, do you also have capital for living expenditures? That is, to live off from an extended period of time when you don't have enough or even complete lack of income from trading? I'm also on a comparable journey for over a couple of years now, ...

Funny to see her image 'proven' by the data. Hm, never tried it... I presume you're a hawk?

See below a small overview of FOMC moves for SPY, TLT & VXX. Surprisingly strong moves in VXX on non-pressco FOMC's...

Probably all of you are aware of this, but just in case: this Friday SPY will go ex-dividend ($1.03329). Have a nice week :-)
- Vermeer replied Jun 12, 2015
To me, the risk/reward doesn't look attractive, especially with FOMC next week wich could cause some hefty moves.

Good to hear :-) Agree with you regarding the management tools, difficult subject anyway... I'm (trying) to read BJ's 2nd book (on earnings), but that's far more complex... Oh, closed the SPY 208.5/209 spreads @ 0.44 yesterday.

Whoohoo! Drinks are on The Fool tonight
- Vermeer replied Jun 9, 2015
SPY looks to have a 61.8% retrace (see picture). Just opened a couple of Jun 12 $208.5/$209 bull call spreads for $0.23. If we recover next days, $209+ at Friday should be possible.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm reading one of those comments ('Impractical' with attached images) now and there's some truth in it I guess... Especially the point that it's less useful in Earnings Season (but hey, Johnson's got another book on that ...
