Backtesting is fine. As long as everything is set up as if you were making real trades with real money. For me, the P and L is everything, it tells the real story.

Pipology, that's a great way of putting it. After the news/fundamentals moves the market, it definitely falls into a pattern like range and I totally agree that's when you can use some techs to make trades.
