Interactive Brokers has 0.5 to 1.5pips spread during european and US market hours - the way they manage the forex trades is horrible though in matter of swaps. Carry will cost you quite a bit either long or short if you hold overnight.

Thanks Kfp, what I'm actually trying to figure out is the fair discount of the eurchf september contract (RF) to the june contract. For the last few days, it's been trading at around 17pips discount (one can easily save 17pips when rolling over the ...

Does that mean .18*90 = 16.20pips for 90 days ?? I had in mind 13 pips but the RF September futures show more like 16pips indeed.

As it's been said before, you might switch to trading EURCHF futures on globex (contract RF) if you want to keep on enjoying positive carry .

No, but fxshock allusion to Oz might have brought this to mind ?!? ( "Mate" is quite common in UK as well)

Bstay, thanks for your input. Can you tell us more about the swaps ? Even when calling Tradestation they could just tell me they calculate rollover interests if one carries a position past 5pm, but the agent had no idea of the actual interests used, ...

Does someone here know the actual swap rate on eurchf with Tradestation ? I called and asked today but the agent wasn't able to give it ?!?

Hi I trade with IB but just called Tradestation to open a trial account with them. Trading forex is not my main interest but I do sometimes. When asked, the agent on the phone enquired further and told me they do calculate rollover at 5pm everyday ...

90 or a little less days from expiration you can fairly easily get the 8 points discount on spot price with RF (eurchf futures contract on globex) Problem is rolling over every 90 days as there's usually a 3 bips spread on those and the later dated ...

futures and forwards — Those are 2 ways to benefit from the positive swap. I trade RF through IB but with slippage and rollover you still lose much of the positive carry - but it still remains positive. Forwards are supposed to be better, but ...
