I'm trying to gauge if there is an interest in using NinjaTrader 8 and Visual Studio for building ...

Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with Encog. That was the motivation for me to come up with a way to pass lots of information locally and fast. I haven't delved into databases much yet. Right now CSV does everything I need.

Rough, but it works — I took some time off but came back to this project and have it working. It's still very rough right now but I will clean it up. I will try to describe the steps I used to get this working. 1) Robert Giesecke's unmanaged ...

FXEZ, I agree. I just wanted to start with named pipes because of their simplicity. Once I get that working, my plan is to implement several IPC types (sockets, shared memory, and remoting).

FXEZ, I am making a little progress. I have been able to call a simple function like you've shown but opening a named pipe is still not working right now. I did switch from RGiesecke's method of exporting to Selvin's (link). Both are similar but I ...

Ok, I finally figured out how to use gitHub. I had a hidden folder that was wrecking my settings from an earlier attempt to get everything going. Now that this is up and running, I will use it to update code and here to post the reasoning behind the ...

Quick update: I'm setting up a GitHub spot so I can post the entire solution and people can see the changes that happen. Once this is done, I will resume testing/debugging this project

Chriz, I'm going to reluctantly expose my newness to C# here. I've never used ILDASM. I've seen it referenced in many articles but have not learned about it yet. It is on the "to-do" list but not quite high enough yet to stop dev on my current ...

Chris, I agree that these are very similar. The great thing about IPC is that you can redirect it to where you want. For me, I want a centralized C# application. Others may use direct MT4/5 to another MT4/5. I am looking into some other ways to ...

I just haven't had a chance to work on it yet. I'm also surprised that no one else has chimed in.

I am working on a similar platform communication protocol that is lightweight and as platform independent as possible. It is not working yet but the FF thread is here: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=347503 My goal is to be able to pass ...

You know, that is very possible!! I've done then redone this so many times including creating new projects that I probably have missed something. I will go back and take a look. I had to take a day off from it. I ended up very frustrated and was ...

Investeo also wrote this arcticle: http://www.mql5.com/en/articles/249 That's where I got the simple add function via a DLL. The DLL there is just from the namespace Testme which compiles out to Testme.dll. That custom DLL is getting called from ...

I'm very familiar with that article. That's the one I used first but trying to get the NamedPipeServerStream() function with all of the overloaders matched up was a nightmare. I'm even trying to go completely basic with this: [DllExport("Add", ...

The ability to get this written/working with C# is an absolute must. The ultimate roadmap for what this will work with is C# based. No C# is a deal breaker in my situation. I didn't think the C# libraries were the big issue. I already have the ...

Haha...sometimes this stuff does get blurry, I agree. When going C# to C#, I could enter text in the Console.Readline and Console.Writeline and have it populate on the other side through the pipe streams. No pointers were needed. Now if I can just ...

That's why I was saying it didn't matter if I tried to pass different data types. I've tried it with int and double as well. I'm not even getting into arrays yet. The line that had Main(string[] args) was commented out because that line is used when ...
- Calling named pipes dll from MT5. How to?
My ultimate goal is to be able to use multiple MT4/5 platforms to feed a custom application written ...

I would like to contribute — RR, I have a fair amount of C# programming experience and think I might be able to help out with this project. I've read the entire thread (whew...) and performance seems to be something that could be tweaked a ...
