Not coding perfection but I've tested it and it works sufficiently. Importantly I'm triggering this at a time in the market I'm not concerned about a few seconds of sleep time. int loop = 0; while(iOpen(Symbol(), PERIOD_W1, 0) <= 0 && loop < 10){ ...

Thanks Bandung, that's useful information. I'll do something like that but probably just for PERIOD_W1 as that's the only one I need cross-timeframe. I don't want to do frequent requests for something I don't need. I'll test it tonight, thx for the ...

Yes that's a good possible workaround. Do you think I'll need to have one chart for each instrument? I think long-term I might do a dirty fix and query the dataset until it returns a >0 value but it's a pain having to wait a week to test this theory.
- Non-chart timeframe data at the start of the week
I've experienced a couple of times an issue with getting PERIOD_W1 data from an EA running on the ...

I am using the stunnel method too. on Build >= 406 you will need to use the IP address of the machine rather than a 127/localhost address.

Don't thank me, thank the guy in the hMailServer thread who discovered it!

Hey Gamma, I just put my IP into MT4 and I've got email again. Fortunately I have a static IP so I won't have any problems with dynamic IPs. I experimented briefly with the hosts file but I think I need to reboot to have the changes acknowledged by ...

Your problem in post 68 is a probably a code compilation error, not to do with the mail server.
- atr replied Nov 7, 2011
Hi Gamma, there have been two solutions mooted in the hMailServer thread. One is to use the external IP address of the box (which may be tricky if you have a dynamic one). Second is to add localhost to your windows hosts file. I'll try them both ...

I don't think I'll do that - it's not a critical part of my trading. Thanks for the information though. Be nice if they acknowledge or explain the problem while we're waiting for a fix.

Sorry I am still at 406 with one broker and 409 on the other, problem exists on both. That release note sounds like their internal email system has a (now broken) dependency with the terminal side system that we use.

406 and 409 across 2 dealers. Both (406) broke on the 1/11 which points to something locally. Then changed to 409, same problem. I agree with Bill in the thread that it is a Metatrader issue. I tried the telnet tests on Monday and they worked fine. ...

Sorry, I meant to! url I have checked these updates and I don't have either of them installed (however they are on the optional list) so I don't think they are the problem.

I forgot to add that I experimented with a different port (than 25) and could also telnet through sTunnel to the mail server. The problem seems to be between MT4 and sTunnel.

Found this guy asking about the same problem on hMailServer forum.

This solution has been solid as a rock for me until 1st of Nov and as far as I can tell nothing changed in my system setup. Anybody else experiencing issues? I can't see stunnel attemping to process the port redirection in the logs. It's like the ...

No problem. I'll post my results up here anyway so the thread can serve as a reference for others.

In my system I only look at the value of the bar prior to the current one but I will mock up some code and check that for you.

It does support multiple timeframes to some extent; all of the built-in indicators like iATR will work correctly.
- Cross-period custom indicator returning incorrect values during backtest
I have a custom indicator that works fine on a chart and in an EA when accessing the same timeframe ...
