demoing this now. how do you add more data for backtesting, I tried to backtest and could only go back about a year. and is there anything planned to allow this to run mt4 EA's or a converter or bridge or something?

i'm on page 48, appologize I couldn't read all 7000 pages before asking a question anyway, was wondering if anyone has created an indicator to show these pinbars or double bar closes on the chart? I know its possible as I've seen similar things ...

which broker are you using with a 2 pip spread? I find very few have a spread that low in gbpusd and most that do seem to be scams.

I wouldn't be as concerned about January being a losing month, that happens sometimes. The fact that the system only seems to have worked since rates went to zero is a bigger concern for me.

from my backtests, it seems that grants original 75 tp and 25 be seem to work best at least when I test through the EA, doing 105TP probably would work better if trading manually.

thanks, I had the bar shifted over to the right, I thought we used the next bars. still backtesting came out well even like that. I am changing stuff now so that should be better.

and 8:30 cutoff time, do you mean after 8:15 bar? so 8:15 bar would be the last one you would consider? I've been using 8:30 bar.

grant, is this how you do it as well? I will change my charts tonight, apparently I am doing it wrong, although it did backtest over 1200 pips last year my way so not horrible

right I use 5-7 on +1 broker, but my signals are coming from the next candle from the one you are using. My candle says 7am on my metatrader. can someone put the cursor over the last candle today and tell me what time it says? i'm guessing 6:45 on a ...

i've asked twice already, still no answer on this. I would assume the times would change depending on DST time.

I checked at work, same thing would have happened. I think you guys are using a different bar than me, if you use 4-6 on metatrader, this would not come out like this. what was the entry you guys got for today? i assume you using 4-6 9 bars right? ...

what breakeven, today would be a -15 stop loss. I've confirmed with 3 feeds.

i tested this and grant appears right, his settings seem the best although I can get a little more profit using the higher tp of 105, but stoploss seems right. my main worry is before mid 2008, the system doesn't work as evidenced from backtests, ...

interesting how the feeds vary so much, I have 5089 as the sell price, 5 pips below the low of 5094. highest feed reached was 1.5902. so it would have just hit assuming 2 point spread. with your feed, definately you would have hit. anyway, I try to ...

thing is this was good for 105 pips today. so kinda sucks. on my feed from gain capital, it actually wouldn't have hit the stop if I didn't subtract 2 pips for the spread. on one other platform I believe it wouldnt have hit the stop either if the ...

i think I will test again using 73 pips or 103 pips each way, and 17 pip stops. that will include spread and should eliminate a number of losers. scull method did better for me just going for the pips and subtracting spread afterward.
- robl45 replied Feb 4, 2010
sucks when you miss by a pip, sucks especially when you using 13 pips on the short. I think 15 pips should go both ways, 17 pip stop loss after spread ain't gonna kill anyone.
- robl45 replied Feb 4, 2010
is everyone using the 13 pip stoploss for a short? 15 pip stoploss minus 2 pip spread? I would have been stopped out using that, but 15 pip straight stoploss on one or two brokers, I would have gotten the trade.

manual backtested results for 2009. Grant method 105 tp, 15 sl, no breakeven. 85 ema only when line is out of yellow area or the slightest bit over one edge. 1215 pips for the year. modified scull method, 4-6 like grant box. 35 tp 40sl 1010 pips for ...
