After reading through this enormous thread I have to say: "AMAZING!!!". I will try to implement this method first on my demo and then in some small account. I am really looking forward to the book Graeme is writing, please include a chapter on part ...

Which version is 1.10 Edd new ? Is it in this thread?

Sorry, I double checked it now and it seems that you can't indeed return an array (which btw sucks even more)... Please ignore my post about that, it seems we have to use only passing arguments by reference.

We are definitely not done. I don't know about indicators that much, this thread was started to explain, how to apply general software engineering knowledge to EA programming. But maybe someone else may answer?

well the vps costs something and also it needs some maintenance (the bots are being updated all the time). Also running a dozen of bots on an vps can make the system very very unresponsive. I also thought about a possibility like this, but right now ...

I like especially the RSI rollercoaster. Simple and no mess with BB's.

This was already discussed, 5 is a conservative setting, 2 means more drawdown. Please search more before asking ( I know, the thread is long ).

Hey Ronald. I am glad that you are trying to find an algorithm for an EA to adjust itself. I am trying to optimize EA's as well but I use different methods (some arguably more effective), since I have some background in artificial intelligence. I ...

What about starting a wiki with a rule that if somebody asks a question and he gets an answer, he has to put that answer in the wiki. That way we can separate discussion from knowledge base.

I am still confused why this bot uses no MTF. Is this intentional ?

scooby> can you please exaplin, if there is any signifficant difference in calculating rsi of 15 min, 1h, 4h with period 2 and calculating 3 rsi's of 15min with period 2,8,32 ?

This looks cool, scooby. Do you intervene at all ? What are the specific rules for this EA? Will do some backtesting this weekend on various strategies + try to build my own RSI based using neural networks, will see how that goes.

So is the current state of TCF "correct"? It does not use MTF if I see the code correctly.
- awk replied Jan 21, 2010
no, i mean they counted rsi from difference of price and EMA
- awk replied Jan 21, 2010
Just saw an interesting video. They presented a modified RSI there. Basically normal rsi is computed from close price. They calculated it from CLOSE-EMA, they called it detrended rsi. Scooby, can you please comment?
- awk replied Jan 21, 2010
I posted some code comments on TCF in url
- awk replied Jan 21, 2010
A little bashing on brand new TCF bot. I usually don't bash old or so called "legacy" code, but since this is brand new, I have some comments. You use 0 and 1 to distinguish between sell and buy. There is no problem with this, but these constants ...

Finally a bot that has no SL/TP (which is imho flawed by definition), but actually analyzes the market and says, this trade is done, the original conditions are voided.

Alright guys, I have been running DB for 24 hours, it opened all 7 trades and hedged them all. So now I am in approx 6% drawdown. The obvious question is, what now ? Should I just wait for the trades to close themselves or ?
- awk replied Jan 19, 2010
Steve, do you think that hedging of unsuccessful trades is a good idea here? I mean, We open a buy when price is above SMA (because it is in the upper band). Then he price moves down, what makes us think that it will again move above average? I ...
