I mainly use FANN because I'm C++/Java developer in my day job. With FANN I've been able to implement some the Reinforcement learning algorithms the same author created and use them. I also use a product called Beagle which gives some good ...

I've been using FANN for awhile. It's not to bad. Matlab is expensive unless your a student. Not sure what your doing here. Usually with an ANN you start with a set of training data. For example, day+1 Close, open, high, low, close, etc. The first ...

Markov Models??? Hmmm, isn't that what they use to predict the weather? Which is a good point, I really emphatically believe, the further your predictions go out from the current tick, the less accurate they are. Like the weather, they usually get ...

Looked at genetic algorithms and genetic programs. Kinda stuck on neural networks. See some promise with ANNs used in reinforcement learning. The most important thing I've learned is that it's how you view/prepare the data. Any idiot, like me can ...

Interesting. That is one of things I have on my TODO list for looking at Time Sales and Level II data. Try and figure out Market orders, when an order is moved and when an order is canceled. I believe it will give a better clue into the motives of ...

I originally started looking at imbalances in book orders about 4 years ago. I ended up going down many other fruitless tracks since them, but now am back to book orders. A single day of EUR/USD Level II quotes consists of about 850,000 entries. ...

Just curious what you mean by "where the book is hidden". Level II quotes? I actually access Level II and rebuild the books on my machine. I realize it isn't the complete market, but the same is true in equities. So what book are you talking about? ...

My database takes about 20GB and the last I checked it was 198 million rows. Lots of data, lots of fun.

The movie has no answers, it's just a good flick. Reminds me of the twilight zone. I wonder how many of us looking for that holy grail look like and act like the character in the movie?

Never left, just more of lurker. Patterns are interesting, I've spent quite a bit of time trying to exploit them to include algorithms to match specific patterns all the way to using ANNs, genetic algorithms and reinforcement learning. No luck, so ...

Hope is always the feeling that tells me to get out of a losing position. I took a big lose Friday with my longs in EUR/CHF. The 160 pip drop today would have really hurt. I'm guessing maybe the bottom will come soon enough.

They're out of bullets and took ~8B loss in the Euro so far. If they were crazy enough to intervene then short EUR/CHF, because you can see the downward pressure is big by holding it up so long. Just an opinion though.

With the volatility the last week, it might not be good to have any position(long or short) in the euro over the weekend. I won't. Dan

SNB Intervention Not Likely? — From reading a couple of articles, the recent slide started after the SNB hinted no more interventions. Opps looks, like I'm taking a big loss today. Good luck.

Don't need to insult me. I've been developing systems for 30 years. I'm currently a software architect for a large defense contractor in the area of aviation. No way will windows ever be used in a system that need to be robust and reliable. Maybe ...

I never said the SDK was unstable, just windows and COM are unstable. I have linux systems I haven't had to reboot in months. Windows requires a reboot every week. Also, the SDK is stuck on Visual studio 6.0. Using End of Life products is just plain ...

I'm guessing the demo platform is used by the developers for testing. It is very unstable. My favorite time was the day testing on the demo platform I got what ever price I asked for. This is one thing I really hate about MB. You can't seriously ...

The Midnight crossover was killing me and others. Usually there navigator, would hang and you'd have to be restarted at 1 or 2 or 3 AM (whenever you woke up). This happened alot on live and demo accounts. I gave up trading with the SDK, because ...

If I read this right the rollover rate on EUR/CHF is .65% at Oanda. MB quotes 1.9% for the rollover rate which works out to about $9 per standard log. Alpari url Dan
