White House: Where the top economic adviser is paid $30,000 a year and the chief calligrapher pulls down $102K
The Trump White House complied Friday with a requirement that staff salaries be reported to Congress annually, and while the listed salaries largely follow established bureaucratic contours, with, for example, 22 of the 377 employees maxing out at a top-tier $179,700 per annum, it was also learned that Goldman Sachs alumnus Gary Cohn, director of the National Economic Council, is pulling down just $30,000 and confirmed that first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are taking no pay for their West Wing roles.
