Australia's booming diversity
Australia's diversity is booming as the average heritage of first and second-generation Australians shifts from Europe to Asia. Just under half (49 percent) of Australians were born overseas or has one parent who was born overseas. The number of Australians who have both parents who were born in the country (third generation) sits at 50.7 percent. The Associated Press reports that for the first time in our history, the majority of people born overseas are now from Asia, not Europe.
