An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck about 250 miles north of Tokyo early Saturday local time on Japan's east coast, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake was centered in Ishinomaki, in the same vicinity as the devastating Tohoku earthquake that claimed thousands of lives in 2011. No tsunami warning has been issued at this time. (full story)
