Traders always want to tell themselves that what they are doing isn’t gambling and that, because you can have an edge, trading is a ‘safer’ way to make a living. This is simply not true but it doesn’t really matter either. The term gambling just describes an activity where one places a bet on an event with an uncertain outcome, wagering something of value. If trading doesn’t fit this definition 100%, I don’t know what does.
