British pound crashes to fresh three-decade low as Brexit concerns accelerate

The pound took a dive in early Asian trade on Friday, hitting its lowest level since 1985. The currency fell to as low as $1.1819, according to Reuters data, although it later recovered to $1.2380 around 7:55am SIN/HK, extending losses from recent sessions. On Thursday, it was hovering around $1.2720 after hitting what was also a 31-year low of $1.2686 on Wednesday. Market speculation was rife that Fridays' aggressive move was the result of a wrong trade keyed in.
