Four months before the last election I conducted a survey which found Ukip voters to be the most pessimistic in Britain. Three quarters of them said they thought the country was heading in the wrong direction. My latest research reveals a stunning turnaround: 86 per cent of them now say we are on the right track, making them the most optimistic of all. It does not take much to figure out what is behind this transformation.
