The reporting period for this release covers the calendar month of June 2016, and therefore includes data for a short period after the EU referendum. There is very little anecdotal evidence at present to suggest that the referendum has had an impact on services output. The Index of Services was estimated to have increased by 2.4% in June 2016 compared with June 2015. All of the 4 main components of the services industries increased in the most recent month compared with the same month a year ago.
