According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover in April 2016 in Germany increased in real and in nominal terms 2.3% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year. The number of days open for sale was 26 in April 2016 and 24 in April 2015. Compared with the previous year, turnover in retail trade was in the first four months 2016 in real terms 1.9% and in nominal terms 2.0% larger than in in the corresponding period of the previous year.
