This is Janet Yellen’s week. The Federal Reserve chairwoman goes up to Capitol Hill to deliver the Fed’s semiannual monetary policy report to the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday and Senate Banking Committee on Thursday. On the House side, Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling will probably want to promote legislation to audit and reform the Fed. Almost everyone else — economists, money managers, business owners, even the man on the street — will be listening for any inkling of regret on the part of the Fed for its decision to raise its benchmark rate by 25 basis points in December.
