Asian companies boost production, shift supply ahead of trade changes

Major Southeast Asian exporters involved in the Trans-Pacific Partnership are rushing to take advantage of the pending trade benefits, boosting production and arranging supply chains within the 12-nation free-trade area to qualify for duty-free imports. The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, or Vinatex, is growing its large network of plants in advance of the pact's enactment. The company broke ground in March on a 10-hectare manufacturing complex in the central Vietnamese province of Quang Nam.
