Three Fed officials on board for rate hike before year-end
Three Federal Reserve officials, in separate presentations, all agreed Saturday on the likelihood of a rate increase before the end of the year. The most important comments for markets came from John Williams, the president of the San Francisco Fed, who is seen as a member of Yellen’s inner-circle. In a speech in the New York City suburbs, Williams said it would be an “appropriate step” for the Fed to start hiking rates this year.
