BOJ’s Kuroda Says No Need for More Monetary Easing Now: Yomiuri

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said there’s no immediate need for additional monetary easing, in an interview with the Yomiuri newspaper. The bank is ready to adjust policy if the need arises, he told the paper. Japan’s inflation trend is improving steadily, Kuroda said, adding that inflation will pick up quickly in the latter half of this fiscal year, according to Yomiuri. The private sector is more pessimistic than the central bank about the inflation outlook, Kuroda told the paper.
