California’s improved economy is leading to record Christmas traveling
A record 7.57 million Southern California residents and 12.2 million across the state are expected to hit the highways and take to the skies over the long Christmas holiday, emboldened by an improving economy and the lowest gasoline prices in years, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California. They will be among a record 98.6 million travelers nationwide this holiday season taking a trip of 50 miles or more from home, the auto club said in its annual Christmas travel forecast. And travel in Southern California and the state will be at the highest for any holiday since 2001.
