U.K. Retail Sales Surge as Black Friday Stokes Spending

U.K. retail sales rose more than economists forecast in November as Black Friday boosted sales of electrical appliances and household goods. The volume of sales including auto fuel increased 1.6 percent, the biggest increase this year, the Office for National Statistics said in London today. Economists forecast a 0.4 percent gain, according to the median estimates in a Bloomberg News survey. Sales excluding fuel rose 1.7 percent.
