German Retail turnover in May 2014: +1.9% in real terms on May 2013
According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover in May 2014 in Germany increased 1.9% in real terms and 2.2% in nominal terms compared with the corresponding month of the previous year. The number of days open for sale was 25 in May 2014 and 24 in May 2013. When adjusted for calendar and seasonal variations (Census-X-12-ARIMA), the May turnover was in real terms 0.6% and nominal terms 0.7% smaller than that in April 2014.
