Huge number of Chinese tourists hit by shutdown

The closure of national parks, museums and monuments during the federal shutdown hasn’t just disappointed school children and vacationing Americans, it’s also provided a headache for Chinese tourists in the U.S. taking advantage of a seven-day Chinese national holiday. “It’s disastrous to come to the U.S. and find that the Statue of Liberty is closed,” says Z. John Zhang, a professor of marketing at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
