Monday is a light day for economic reports, although maintaining an informed perspective on the US macro trend will suffer if the data blackout via the government shutdown rolls on. Some releases aren’t expected to be affected, including today’s monthly update on consumer credit (19:00 GMT) from the Federal Reserve, which doesn’t rely on funding from Congress. Fortunately, there are few US updates from the government scheduled this week and so the statistical losses will be minimal.
