Inflation Difference (HICP) between Eurozone and Switzerland Narrows from 1.1% to 0.9%

According to Swiss statistics, the yearly change in the Swiss consumer price index for August remained stable at 0.0% on a yearly basis. The difference between euro zone and Switzerland in terms of the European Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices HICP has narrowed from 1.1% from 0.9%. It makes sense to compare the European and Swiss inflation with an identical measure, e.g. the HICP. Swiss inflation measured with HICP has slightly fallen to 0.4% y/y. Eurozone HICP is at 1.3% (vs. 1.6% last month), French HICP is currently at 1.0% y/y (down from 1.2%), German HICP has depreciated from 1.9% to 1.6% (source Eurostat). ... (full story)
