Outgoing Bank of England governor Sir Mervyn King will bow out with a song on Sunday as a guest on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs. The BBC declined to disclose the economist’s musical choices or choice of luxury item before broadcast of the interview with Kirsty Young. But Andrew Sentance, the former Monetary Policy Committee member, was among the first to speculate on the economist’s song choices on a campaign on Twitter.
