Australia New Motor Vehicle Sales Dip 1.6%
The total number of new motor vehicle sales in Australia was down a seasonally adjusted 1.6 percent on month in April, the Australia Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday, standing at 93,423. That follows the 0.6 percent contraction in March. By region, Tasmania recorded the largest percentage decrease (9.3 percent), followed by Queensland (7.7 percent) and the Australian Capital Territory (6.4 percent). Over the same period, Victoria and South Australia increased by 3.7 percent and 2.5 percent respectively.
