Next week investors’ focus will be on the BoE monetary policy announcement and several speeches by Fed members. In terms of European data it will be quiet, at least with respect to key data releases. We expect the BoE to keep rates on hold. At the same time there is little scope for them to increase quantitative easing as soon as next week. We expect GBP/USD to remain supported next week. Elsewhere, several Fed members, including central bank Chairman Bernanke, will speak at the Chicago Fed’s annual conference on bank structure on competition.
