ECB Weidmann: Don't Share Pessimism Regarding German Economy
European Central Bank Governing Council member Jens Weidmann said Saturday that he did not agree with those who assessed the German economic outlook as increasingly bleak. Briefing the press after the meetings here of European central bank governors and finance ministers, Weidmann noted the "somewhat disappointing" data in Europe at the start of the year and the tendency to view economic developments more pessimistically.
