The informal meeting of EcoFin ministers will take place on Friday 12 April (afternoon) and Saturday 13 April (morning) in Dublin. It will be preceded by the meeting of the Eurogroup on the Friday (morning). Following the Cyprus bailout, European leaders, including ECB Governor Mario Draghi this week, have become more vocal on the need for setting clear banking resolution rules rapidly. Efforts have to be stepped up in order for agreements to be reached on the next pillars of the banking union, namely the single resolution scheme and the deposit guarantee scheme.
