Speculators Reversed Their EUR Bets Back Into Net Short

After turning their wager into net EUR long for the first time in 16 months last week, speculative traders on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange bounced back into net EUR short this week, data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) showed on Friday. Traders shifted their bets from a total of $845 million in long EUR position last week to a total of $1.8 billion in net short EUR position as of Tuesday. In a parallel move, traders started to cover their anti-USD bets by decreasing their short USD position by 22% to reach a total of $8.6 billion as of Tuesday.
