NAB Business confidence hits 44-month low

Business confidence plummeted in November to its lowest point since April 2009, amid concerns about the soft global economy, according to a leading survey. National Australian Bank Ltd's latest monthly business survey showed business confidence fell to -9 in November from -1 in the previous month. NAB said confidence did not rise in any sector, with manufacturing recording the biggest fall. The lender said global fiscal tightening, a soft labour market and the strength of the Australian dollar were major factors weighing on confidence.
