Greece's 'Monster' Debt Problem Haunts Europe
As the Euro group of finance ministers meet in Brussels on Monday to decide whether to grant Greece a further tranche of aid that could prevent imminent financial catastrophe, a former European Central Bank (ECB) official told CNBC that Europe needs to help Greece with more time and less debt. Urging Europe to extend Greece's debt maturities, former ECB board member Lorenzo Bini Smaghi told CNBC that it was a critical moment for Europe to help and not hinder Greece.
