US crude oil inventories fall by 3.7m barrels

US commercial crude oil inventories fell by 3.7 million barrels in the week ending 3 August. The US Energy Information Administration says that at 369.9 million barrels, crude oil inventories are above the upper limit of the average range for this time of year. Total motor gasoline inventories decreased by 1.8 million barrels last week and are in the lower half of the average range. Finished gasoline inventories increased while blending components inventories decreased last week.
