Flash Crash, Two Years Later
Two years ago today the Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged nearly 1000 points in the matter of minutes before rebounding quickly. The infamous event, dubbed the “flash crash,” has been burned in the memories of folks on Wall Street. It was one of those eye-opening events that exposed many flaws in the market. Two years later, investors are still scarred. Trading volumes are way down and investors keep yanking money out of domestic equity funds.
