Natural gas futures trade lower after supply data

Natural-gas futures turned lower Thursday after a weekly U.S. government supply report showed a withdrawal of 166 billion cubic feet from the nation's supplies of the product in the week ended Feb. 17. Analysts polled by Platts had expected the EIA to show a decline between 160 and 164 bcf in the week. Natural gas for March delivery NGH12 -1.36% lost 6 cents, or 2.2%, to $2.59 per million British thermal units; it had traded at $2.67 before the data. (full story)
