New Zealand Credit Card Spending Rises In January

Credit card spending in New Zealand increased in January, but at a slower pace compared to the previous month, data from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand showed Wednesday. Spending through credit cards increased 3.1 percent year-on-year in January compared to 5.9 percent rise in December. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, credit card spending rose 0.8 percent, compared to 0.9 percent rise the preceding month. Domestic billings on New Zealand issued cards rose 1 percent from a month earlier. Overseas billings on New Zealand issued cards declined 0.3 percent after rising in the past three months.
