New Zealand Inflation Expectations Ease In 1Q - RBNZ Survey

Business managers in New Zealand now expect inflation to be less of a problem over the next two years than they did in the fourth quarter, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's first-quarter survey, released Tuesday, showed. The survey, conducted for the central bank by polling group The Nielsen Co. on Feb. 8 and 9, showed that the respondents' one-year mean expectations fell to 2.24% from 2.72% in the prior quarter. Inflation expectations for the next 24 months, a key focus for policy makers, eased to 2.50% from 2.82% in the previous survey.
