25 EU nations to sign treaty to stop overspending
Sweden's prime minister says that every country in the European Union apart from Britain and the Czech Republic have decided to sign up to a new treaty designed to stop overspending by eurozone countries. European leaders hope that the new treaty will reassure investors that they will never repeat the mistakes that led them into their current crippling debt crisis. Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said Monday that 25 European Union countries were ready to sign up to the treaty, known as the fiscal compact.
