The consumer price index for Germany is expected to rise by 2.3% on an annual average in 2011 compared with 2010. As further reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on the basis of the results available so far, the consumer price index in December 2011 is expected to be up 2.1% on December 2010. Compared with November 2011, a 0.7% rise in consumer prices is expected, which is mainly due to seasonal factors.
