In November 2011 the consumer prices in Germany were up 2.4% on November 2010. The inflation rate as measured by the consumer price index thus remained markedly above the two-percent threshold. However, it decreased slightly for the second consecutive month (October 2011: +2.5%; September 2011: +2.6%). Compared with October 2011, the consumer price index remained unchanged in November 2011. Thus the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) confirms its preliminary result of the consumer price index of 28 November 2011.
