Metallica rocked by euro crisis
Heavy metal band Metallica (left) has brought forward a European tour scheduled for 2013 to next year over fears the single currency will collapse, jeopardising the chances of getting paid for the gigs. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers have also moved forward several European concerts. Both bands are managed by Peter Mensch and Cliff Burnstein, who told The Wall Street Journal: "We're a US export the same way Coca–Cola is. We look for the best markets." With the prospect of a downturn lasting several years in Europe and the US, Mr Burnstein is looking to South America, Asia and Australia once accelerated tours of Europe ... (full story)
