Retail turnover in Germany in August 2011: +2.2% in real terms to August 2010
According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover in August 2011 in Germany increased 3.6% in nominal terms and 2.2% in real terms compared with the corresponding month in the previous year. The number of days open for sale was 27 in August 2011 and 26 in August 2010. When adjusted for calendar and seasonal variations (CENSUS X-12-ARIMA), the August 2011 turnover was in nominal terms 3.0% and in real terms 2.9% smaller than that in July 2011.
