Swiss Socialists, Industry Push For Swiss Franc Peg To Euro
The Swiss socialist party and the president of Swiss industrial lobby group Swissmem want the country's central bank to consider a temporary peg of the Swiss franc to the euro should the Swiss currency strengthen further, Swiss weekly "Der Sonntag" writes. "We don't want a permanently fixed Swiss franc because we want to maintain our independent economic policy," Swiss Socialist Party President Christian Levrat told "Der Sonntag" in an interview published Sunday.
