According to the latest PMI survey, Spain’s service sector expanded at its fastest rate in just under a year during March, supported by a marked and accelerated increase in new business volumes. Capacity was subsequently stretched, and firms took on extra staff to the greatest degree for ten months. However, rising salary expenses resulted in another steep increase in overall input costs, with firms seeking to pass these on to clients wherever possible through a rise in their own output charges.
