Euro area international trade in goods deficit €11.7 bn

The first estimate for euro area exports of goods to the rest of the world in April 2023 was €216.0 billion, a decrease of 3.6% compared with April 2022 (€224.1 bn). Imports from the rest of the world stood at €227.7 bn, a fall of 11.9% compared with April 2022 (€258.6 bn). As a result, the euro area recorded a €11.7 bn deficit in trade in goods with the rest of the world in April 2023, compared with -€34.5 bn in April 2022.
