Existing-home sales rebounded in September after seeing sales wane the previous month, according to the National Association of Realtors®. Each of the four major U.S. regions witnessed increases on a month-over-month basis. From a year-over-year timeframe, one region held steady while the three others each reported a decline in sales. Following August's surprise tumble in existing home sales (while pending- and new-home sales rose), analysts expected September to see a rebound on the heels of improving homebuilder sentiment on foot traffic and the rebound was dramatic. Existing home sales soared 7.0% MoM (vs +3.7% expected).
