Yen Holds Drop Amid Resurgent Dollar With September Hike in Play
The yen held its descent against the dollar after Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda reinforced the divergence in global central bank policy, pledging readiness to ease policy further after comments from Federal Reserve leaders that spurred bets on a U.S. interest-rate hike this year. Japan’s currency was near a two-week low after sinking 1.3 percent on Friday amid a revival in the greenback.
