Dollar slips to 2-week low against yen
The dollar tumbled to its weakest level against the yen in nearly two weeks Tuesday amid reports that Japanese stimulus efforts might fall short of investors’ expectations. The greenback USDJPY, -1.10% was down 1% at ¥104.62 late Tuesday in New York after falling as much as 1.4% earlier in the session. By comparison, it traded at ¥105.81 late Monday in New York. It was the largest one-day gain for the Japanese currency since the U.K. voted to leave the European Union on June 23. A Nikkei report published over the weekend said a fiscal stimulus package planned by the government would be much smaller than expected. ... (full story)
